June 8th, 2023 – Unicore obtains the ISO 26262 Functional Safety Management ASIL D Certificate issued by TÜV Rheinland, an international renowned independent provider of inspection and testing services.
Unicore obtains the ISO 26262 certificate
ISO 26262 is an internationally recognized automotive functional safety standard and is one of the qualifications required for electronic component suppliers to enter the automotive industry. The scope of certification that Unicore has passed includes management of functional safety, product development at the hardware level, product development at the software level, supporting processes, and ASIL-oriented and safety-oriented analyses, which cover the entire life cycle of product. The guidance and application of standardized technical specifications help reduce the hazards caused by functional failures of electronic products and ultimately reduce the number of traffic accidents and the risk of potential recalls.
Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) is a risk classification system defined by the ISO 26262 standard, which has four levels, from ASIL A to ASIL D. Unicore has obtained the ASIL D certificate – the highest level of ISO 26262 functional safety standard with the most stringent requirements on the development process, which indicates that Unicore has the ability to manage and develop products of the highest functional safety level in strict accordance with the functional safety system requirements.
